AstraZenica Animation Development
Following on with the same theme as the last AstraZenica animation, Involve asked JSCGI to create 11 more stings to use as walk up for each of the sections for the main AstraZenica event which was held at the beginning of February. Each sting had a living hold at the end so that it could be switched to camera or graphics at the event. All that was given to us was the title of each segment and which icons were to be the highlight for the specific section. Once we had sign off on the visuals we turned our attention to a bit of sound design then mixed it with a track that was used on a previous AstraZenica video.

AstraZenica Opening Animation
Involve, one of the UK’s leading employee engagement agencies, called to ask if I could help produce a short animation to be used on the front of a video and for use with future presentation.
The deadline was tight as the edit was to take place on the 4th Jan and the show was on the 5th. This only gave me a few days to create something cool for them. Fortunately the logo design was very receptive to animation. The end result was two versions of the hand coming together, one in white and one in AstraZeneca’s colours.
The audio effects were added to help blend the animation with the music of the video, so that they wouldn’t appear to be different elements.
Let me know which you prefer, I have my favourite but I’m not telling!!

Helping Digital Theatre Customers Help Themselves!
Towards the end of 2011 I was asked to create some video tutorials by Digital Theatre.
The videos were designed to help users understand the basics of the new Digital Theatre Desktop Player, which in turn will hopefully lead to less people needing direct support from the Digital Theatre Team. Instead of writing a script and then animating to the script the animations were made by using the player and then replicating this as animation. A script was then developed and then voiced by Digital Theatre Producer Tom Shaw. All the work was generated from scratch and does not include any filming of using the product. We chose this route to enable the most control of the final videos. It was also decided to break the videos down into 8 chapters.
All 8 chapters can be found at the link below.

Digital Theatre Routledge Promo
Digital Theatre, a fantastic Soho based company dedicated to bringing theatre to the masses via HD download, asked me to create a promo to publicise new footage that will be available to educational establishments to help with teaching theatrical techniques. After cutting down some 4 hours of eclectic footage I completed a final edit before compositing the footage into this promo.
Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe
During the summer months I was commissioned by the always impressive Oliver Warren at Dingo Bill Productions to help on the design elements for 17 films for Toni & Guy. Post shoot there was an amendment to the packaging which resulted in having to change the wording on some of the products in the films. This meant some 15+ shots needed to be retouched with the new packaging. After designing the initial look and feel for the formulas and 3D pack shots with Dingo Bill I handed over the elements to be completed by Jon Toogood, leaving me to concentrate the retouching. Here are 2 of the films that had the treatment but Im not telling which shots!!!

Miley Cyrus Gypsy Heart Tour
Just before the summer break I was asked by events producer Tom Woodcraft to create some backdrop visuals for lighting designer Sean Burke to use in his production for Miley Cyrus’ Gypsy Heart Tour of South America and Australia. Sean and Tom created a set of mood boards for each song and handed them out to different designers to bring to life. I created backdrops for “Who Owns My Heart” and “7 Things” and jointly produced the backdrop for “Robot” with Jon Toogood. The initial design was for a diamond shape LED wall with some strategic panels missing but due to some of the countries that the tour would visit and availability of LED in these regions it was decided to keep the format to 1080p. This made the media adaptable to almost every scenario and can be used for festivals. The end result was a very happy client and “Who Owns My Heart” was the finale song in the encore.
